Los Angeles County
Technology and software services for public agencies throughout Los Angeles County.
Los Angeles County holds the densest concentration of public agencies in the state. The county government is larger than most state governments, the City of Los Angeles operates its own utilities, port, and airport, and dozens of surrounding municipalities, school districts, transit authorities, water agencies, and joint powers authorities each run their own technology.
Scale changes the nature of the work. Programs here are often multi-year, staffed by prime contractors with subcontracted technical teams, and governed by formal oversight. At the same time, many of the smaller cities and districts in the county face exactly the opposite situation: a two-person IT department supporting a full municipal government. HQT works at both ends, as a technical subcontractor on larger programs and directly with smaller agencies.
